A new day

I woke up the next morning beside Lola. We had stayed up much later than I thought making love. It had been some of the best I’ve had, and that was saying something, considering I’ve slept with the Goddess of Love, and many more.

“Morning,” Lola said. She was perky and had extra bounce in her voice. “That was amazing.”

“It was.”

“Too bad we can’t just stay here and do that all day.”

“I wish,” I said. Not being inside her sucked. I loved the way she made me feel as we made love. “Later.”

“Yes.”

We both got up and dressed. I had to put on the same clothes from the night before. Considering I hadn’t been back to my place for a full day, that was to be expected.

Lola took me back to the business section of the building, and Fleur was already there in her superhero outfit. While not as attractive as the little black dress, she still looked stunning.

“I hope you two got that out of your system,” Fleur said.

Lola smirked. “Like you don’t want to be with him.”

Fleur glared at her but didn’t deny it. That made my day. “We have work to do,” she said.

“I know, and we will.” Lola went to her spot at the bank of computers. She really was a wizard with the things. Made me wish I had been more active in learning them. I could have learned a lot in the last thirty years, but I instead continued my training in more physical activities.

“I need to go home and change, and if we’re hitting the streets, I need my outfit.” I refused to call it a costume. I knew they probably thought of my Greek warrior attire that way, but it wasn’t.

“Go Greek up,” Fleur said. “We’ll be here. I want Lola to put a tap on my brother. Maybe that will lead us to your sister.”

“Okay,” I said. “Eris is the first cog we need to take down.”

Fleur nodded. “As much as I would like to take Finn down, Eris is the pressing matter. Then we’ll get my dirty no-good brother.”

And whoever was behind all this. I just had that feeling, and it was still there. Itching me in the back in that spot that I couldn’t reach on my own. So fucking annoying.
